"Now I feel great!"
Benefits of following nutritional advice

For someone starting out on a nutritional regime, the road ahead can seem long and uncertain. Recommended changes in diet may be radical, affecting family and social life, and the cost of supplements reaching on into an indefinite future can be daunting, involving sacrifice and careful planning. Does the programme really have to be so strict and so demanding? In the end, is it really going to prove worthwhile?

If you are in the process of weighing up the possible pros and the undoubted cons, or if you simply need assurance that the nutritional advice you have decided to follow really is likely to bring some benefits, I suggest that you read the following accounts collected from several of my clients who, like you, had to adjust to a new way of eating, find money for supplements, frequently coping with die-off reaction from candida toxins and withdrawal symptoms from caffeine, and all the time wondering whether this really was the right thing to do and if, in due course, they would actually reap some benefits.

I feel certain you will be encouraged - and who knows? Your name might well be one of those appearing in my next collection of success stories!

Clive, a young man from Essex, had been diagnosed by his doctor as suffering from M.E. eight years previously, at the age of nineteen. He describes himself as going from happy and fit to being depressive, ache-ridden and permanently tired. On doctor's advice he took anti-depressants and gave up sport. He says:

"These things didn't seem to make any difference and my life took a downhill turn. I stayed feeling dreadful for about three years during which time I had to give up a university course.

For some unknown reason I gradually started to feel a little better but was still feeling worse rather than better for most of the time and needed large amounts of sleep. After a further five years of being very up and down I met Erica while servicing her computer! I started on the anti-candida diet which seemed very daunting at first but I was determined to get myself fully fit again.

After the first three months I was starting to feel a bit better but not great. The die-off reaction of the anti-fungals was hard to handle because just as I was starting to feel better it would knock me down again. Fortunately with time these bouts got less frequent which made things easier.

After a year on the diet I tried relaxing it for a month and had no side-effects so gave up the anti-fungal supplements. Going back on the diet for a further year, as Erica advises, has been no problem because I have found that I now prefer soya milk and soda bread to their 'yeasty' equivalents.

I feel confident that I have kicked my M.E./Candida problems and am feeling fully fit for the first time in eight years. I can go to bed late and get up early without suffering the next day. Standing up and concentrating for long periods causes no problems and I can now say that I feel content with my life and don't worry much at all. It is great to feel so fit again after such a long time."

Elise, from Aberystwyth, had suffered from M.E. for eight years but also other health problems all her life. She writes:

"Two and a half years ago, after having my baby, I simply didn't get better. I'd eaten anything and everything during the pregnancy, and felt well even though I know that I had probably suffered seriously with candida for eight years, which was when M.E. set in. Out of desperation I contacted Erica and started immediately on the anti-candida diet, taking Mycopryl (to kill yeast) a month later. Post-natal depression was severe for three months.; belching, little appetite and fatigue due to die-off were severe, compounded by little sleep. Erica's supplements dealt with the post-natal depression also, so that within eight months I felt almost normal, but with not much energy. Although die-off was severe, at least I could control it by the dosage and Vitamin C intake. My lifelong problems started to disappear - after 'flaring-up' quite badly - such as cystitis and thrush, and by the first summer I was well, although still very tired.

Last summer I started to play badminton and was pleased with my level of fitness - the first time to have been fit in fifteen years! It takes a long time, but perseverance pays off when you know what you're doing - and in Erica's hands you do!"

Jill, from Swansea, had been medically diagnosed as having M.E. for more than two years. After she had followed my advice for six months, I was thrilled to receive this letter:

"Just a few lines to say many thanks for all your help and support since I started treatment for candida.
Before starting treatment I had been diagnosed M.E. (of unknown cause - no virus was found) and had become so ill that I was bed-bound and house-bound for two years.

Before my illness I was an NHS Senior Physiotherapist and played a lot of sport, tennis and squash to a very high standard. I was amazed that the medical profession couldn't help me - all I was told was "rest"!!

In my prayers I asked God to give me a sign if he was able to help me. Within days I saw your "Beat Candida Cookbook" advertised and after reading it I knew what was wrong with me! I started on a candida regime and slowly but surely I started to improve. I knew I was on the right track!!

When I started treatment with you, I felt I was in such good hands. Your holistic caring approach and your professionalism were an inspiration to me. I knew I was going to get better.

During the times I felt discouraged along the way, you were always there with encouragement, help, support and enthusiasm. Your personal approach is invaluable to me and your other clients.

After six months of treatment, I have more energy, my head is "clearing" and my brain is working properly again! I can walk further and have started driving again short distances, also gentle swimming ten minutes only once a week. My quality of life has improved beyond recognition - it's wonderful!!

All my friends and family are amazed at my improvement. Every day I thank God."

People suffering from eating disorders seldom want others to know, so I have purposely not asked one of these clients to write a testimonial. However, there are many who have stories with a happy ending including one lady who had suffered from bulimia for thirty years and became completely free of her binge/vomit habit after just three months of following nutritional (anti-candida) recommendations. She had originally written to say,

"I hardly dare hope that after so many years of disgusting myself with my habit I might be able to start afresh."

With such a history, it is hardly surprising that her body should suffer in some way as a result, and she had in fact been riddled with multiple joint pain for many years, for which she had tried many different treatments and therapies. Yet after only eight weeks on my programme, she was able to go on a ski-ing holiday and in another eight weeks she was totally free of all joint pain. She wrote:

"Thank you for all you have done - not least for the new lease of life you have given me!"

Pat, from Lancashire, says:

"I struggled through life for twenty-six years with unpleasant symptoms until the age of 55 when, after reading articles in America, my suspicions were confirmed and I was finally diagnosed as having Candida by an allergy specialist. I then turned to alternative medicine but it was not until reading the "Beat Candida Cookbook" that real help was on the way.
The diet is so much easier now that I have lost my sweet tooth, and menopausal symptoms have been helped as well. I have even managed to get over my bitterness for the lost years."

Teresa, from Derbyshire, endured the miseries of thrush for seven long years. After six months of following my recommendations, she sent the following letter:

"I am writing to say thank you to you and your colleagues for all the help, advice and support you have given me during the past six months.

I know it is because of your diet and supplement programme that I am now free from the symptoms that have plagued me for the past seven years, and I cannot thank you enough for that.

I really felt before the anti-candida diet that I was never going to feel 'normal' again. So you can imagine how desperate I was for the diet to work. I had the attitude that this was my last resort as the G.P. seemed to have given up on me.

It has not always been easy especially at the beginning and there have been times when I have felt like giving up but I didn't and, once I started to feel better, that was all the motivation I needed to carry on because I really wanted to feel well again.

I would like to encourage any one starting the anti-candida diet to really give it a go and not to give up because you will feel the benefit."

Janet, from Essex, had debilitating gastro-intestinal problems for ten years and asthma for most of her life. She writes:

"I was suffering severe food intolerance. The hospital was not able to help much. A relative suggested I had a consultation with Erica White, who diagnosed candidiasis. I carefully persevered with her strict regime. Before I first started on the anti-candida diet I could barely walk to the top of the road, but three weeks later I was tramping the Purbeck Hills on a walking holiday. I am now looking towards relaxing my diet, and have never been so fit in all my life!"

Pauline, from Berkshire, had suffered from asthma, eczema and hayfever her whole life, but was able to write the following after just four months!

"I have not included asthma, hayfever and eczema in my Review questionnaires as they are not currently a problem. I have had no eczema since being on the anti-candida diet and only occasional hayfever and asthma - none for the past 3-4 weeks. I am not using any drugs for these."

David, from London, had suffered from severe gastrointestinal problems for nineteen years and eczema for fifteen. Even though not yet completely well, he is able to acknowledge improvements so far.

"For three years I have been following a strict diet which is both gluten-free and anti-candida. I would never have imagined that I would be able to turn my back so easily on sugar, yeast, most flour, coffee and tea (except for herbal tea), cow's milk, even fruit. Yet, with the help of special recipes and vitamin supplements I have managed it. It has not been an altogether smooth ride - a year ago we realised that all our indoor house plants had to go and immediately I felt the benefit of that. But little by little I have gained weight and energy and I am still able to maintain a busy Christian ministry in inner city Hackney. I look forward to further progress, even to returning one day to eating fruit.

So I give thanks to God, to 'Operation Erica' and to my understanding and long-suffering wife."

Tina, from Devon, suffered with anxiety attacks, pre-menstrual symptoms and sinus problems for nine years. After following my nutritional anti-candida advice, she was able to write:

"I have just had my first sugar-free Christmas and I can scarcely believe it! I thought it would be impossible for my craving and love of sweet things - especially chocolate - to go, but it certainly has. I had no trouble watching others eat chocolate, mince pies, pudding and Yule log while I indulged in Greek yoghurt. I don't mind one bit because I feel and look so much better. Now I look forward to my first sugar-free Easter!"

Sandra, from Derbyshire, had suffered from long-term thrush and psoriasis. She writes:

"After eight years of very ill health I am on my way up. Little did I know about Candida, but now I understand all about it. I have worked on this and my health is getting back to normal. What a blessing to feel well again! Eight years ago I was a hopeless mess crying every day because I did not understand the problem. Believe me, it is well worth all the effort to feel well and normal again."

Mike, from Wiltshire, had struggled with candida problems and food intolerances for over three years. After just three months on a nutritional anti-candida regime he managed to re-introduce many of the foods which he previously had to avoid. After six months he reported that his health was excellent and said:

"I would like to thank you for all the professional advice and help you have given me. You have always been most patient and understanding yet persistent and consistent with your course of treatment. Following your prescriptions and diet has been tough but well worth the effort and now, for the first time in over three years, I feel really healthy. I wish I had heard about you earlier!

The rest is now up to me. If I can stay the course of the diet for the remainder of this year, I am sure I will have life-long benefits from your programme of treatment."

Philip, from Leeds, described his life as a mess.

"The doctors, after taking numerous tests, diagnosed me as having a sensitive stomach. On top of that I was an insomniac - sleeping tablets wouldn't affect me. I'd struggle to get through the day because I hadn't slept the night before, then I wouldn't sleep that night, then I'd struggle to get through the day ..... and so the cycle went on. I'd been in this mess for 6-7 years.

I felt I had nothing to lose in following Erica's anti-candida recommendations because I had tried everything else. To start with I was worse than ever with severe die-off and chronic constipation. Things gradually started to improve, albeit slowly. Looking back over 3-6 month cycles I can see and feel positive improvement in my health. I can now go to bed expecting to get a reasonable night's sleep, go to work expecting to be able to cope and I very rarely need indigestion tablets which were as much part of my daily diet as bread and butter!"

Anne, from Suffolk, really enjoyed the anti-candida diet as part of her nutritional regime, and it did her good at the same time!

"I think the diet is brilliant. It's delicious and easy and pleasant to prepare, which is probably why I feel the need to eat regularly. Your "Beat Candida Cookbook" has become indispensable. It is so well set out and helpful in a most practical way.
Finally I want you to know that I feel well and strong physically but especially mentally for the first time in years and this has obviously given me back my confidence and I feel I can begin living my life again, and for that I thank you.

Overall the improvement in my general health and consequently my life is quite fantastic and I really dread to think what state I would have been in now had I not consulted you and started on your programme."

Many people have expressed their appreciation of my "Beat Candida Cookbook".

Sarah, from Bath, wrote:

"Thanks for the book. It's wonderful. I don't feel so alone now."

And Carol, from Cambridge, said,

"At last I feel that I am approaching my problems with yeast in the best way - I found your book at once supportive, encouraging and clear. Thank you again."

Brenda, from Essex, telephoned delightedly to say that her doctor had not been able to believe the improvement in her blood pressure, which had been high for several years, necessitating ongoing medication. He asked her what she had been doing - and Brenda of course told him about her nutritional regime. The doctor responded with, "Well, you certainly could not have done anything better!", and took her off all medication!

Grace, from Liverpool, mother of three, writes:

"Being constantly ill with a young family is no joke. It was a real sacrifice paying for nutritional advice and supplements, but gradually I began to feel better for longer periods and the better I felt, the more I wanted to feel well. It is fantastic to feel your energy and stamina return; it gives you the motivation to go on.

I am feeling really great now and am very grateful for being put in touch with Erica, and very thankful to God for renewed health and strength.".

Debbie, from Hampshire, had been diagnosed as suffering from Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome nineteen months before she contacted me. Eleven months later she wrote:

"When you first asked if any of us would write a few words to encourage others, I did not feel in a position to do so - in fact I very much needed the words of encouragement myself. But now it is another story - I feel like a new person! I am able to tackle mowing the lawn and other household tasks without collapsing in a heap for days afterwards. The improvement in my health and energy has been so remarkable that I don't regret embarking on this diet at all. A positive outlook, determination and an iron will are all that is needed!"

The following letter was sent by Elizabeth, from Kent, aged ninety-one!

"When I started work with you a year ago, I was on the eve of my ninetieth birthday. I count this as an advantage because it made me realise that I may not have very much time left for experimenting, and if relief from Candidiasis can be achieved at this age, there is hope for a lot of other elderly people, who may think they are too old.

For a number of years I had had very painful feet, which greatly hindered my walking. Also, I had become completely deaf; it felt like being in prison and out of the world. I also suffered from what is now known as chronic fatigue syndrome. I was so tired all the time that I had to force myself to do even the simplest and most necessary things to keep going.

After a year's faithful adherence to all your recommendations, I now feel a completely different person. The gout in my feet has completely gone, and the catarrh in my ear, which had prevented me from hearing, is definitely clearing up, so I no longer need a hearing aid. I am beginning to catch up with all the jobs I should have done long ago in my capacity as manager of a block of thirty-two flats I also do all my own shopping and cooking and all the other things necessary to keep alive. A million thanks to you for your very kind support and sympathetic understanding."

Gina, from Devon, had been very ill for a number of years but had started to make good progress at the time she wrote the following:

"I continue to make steady progress, keeping up the four-point plan (using your online system). I really don't know how I could have gone on coping if I hadn't been handed your Beat Candida Cookbook in answer to prayer. My life is 100% improved on what it was - even though I still have more improvements to go and the yeast overgrowth needs to be brought under more control.

Last month I went to see a gynaecologist in Ireland that I had consulted twice before. 11-12 years ago she diagnosed endometriosis and polycystic ovaries with a large cyst also on one ovary. At the time she wanted to operate and do some procedures on both the uterus and the ovaries, and also to put me on hormones to stop menstruation for an extended period to allow the ovaries to 'rest'. I refused all and asked her to monitor the situation, which she was not particularly happy about. The M.E. came along which stopped all visits for 10 years until last month.

I am delighted to tell you that the endometriosis is GONE, the lining of the womb is normal, and the large cyst and polycystic ovaries have cleared leaving just scars on the ovaries. I am delighted and amazed and am telling everyone who will listen about how amazing Nutrition is. Thank you so much Erica!"

Marilyn, from the Czech Republic, is just one of many who are full of praise for our on-line system and the way it is able to provide effective, personalised nutritional advice for people who don't live in the UK. After an initial report and two reviews at three-month intervals in line with our recommendations, she wrote:

"All is going very well with the anti-candida diet and I shall see the whole process through. After my last review, when my candida score fell so dramatically, I had a chat with my assigned nutritionist and decided not to do another review but to have regular contact with her and to continue the four-point plan under her supervision. The one month relax of the diet went without any issues and I am now doing the one year follow-up. I have never been, or looked, as healthy as this in my life. Thank you for everything. God bless you."
